Lydia & Michael had a small Flagstaff wedding this past weekend and we are so honored they chose The R2 Studio as their Flagstaff Wedding Photographers. They are the sweetest souls and have a love for each other that goes beyond just their wedding day. I (Renee) have know Lydia for a few years now, when she was a student in my CNA class. She was amazing then, but adding Michael to the equation just made her even more lovely! L & M’s story is quite amazing and we hope you enjoy seeing their day happen through our images.
Seriously, breathtaking. Lydia & Michael took me to this location after their wedding across from their venue (Chapel of the Holy Dove) and I could not be more pleased with the romantic images we captured.
When I showed up at Lydia’s friend’s house, where she was getting ready, I could tell she was a bundle of nerves. Yes, she was relaxed and enjoying some wine, but she was also wondering how her day would turn out as many anxious brides do. She wondered how Michael was doing and wanted to make sure that every moment of her day was as perfect as possible. At this point I told her to breathe and drink more wine. Then the tears began to flow! She has the sweetest heart and was so glad to finally be marrying Michael, she couldn’t contain her emotions.
LOVE this little note that Lydia left for Michael. We found this when we arrived at their house to shoot his getting ready images.
One of my FAVORITE shots from the day was when Lydia saw herself for the first time in her dress with her hair and make-up complete. This is as candid and emotionally raw as it gets!
Lydia & Michael were originally planning a big extravagant wedding in Sedona, when they realized it wasn’t them. So they met with us and asked us if we were okay if they changed it up. Of course, 100% supportive, we gave them some ideas, chatted over wine, had some emotional tears and they were having the wedding they wanted! They were married in a small chapel off the side of the road with just a few of their closest friends and family present. It was perfect!
Nothing like a little toast to the newest bride & groom surrounded by love.
Here are some more images captured by R2 with the help of our 2nd shooter and hero of the day, Liz.
Lydia saw the moon and started to tear up, so I knew I had to capture it in some of my images.
If you follow R2, you probably remember L & M’s Flagstaff Engagement Session. There is this super cute little Mexican restaurant called Cafe Ole, here in Flagstaff. Lydia and Michael had their first date here, got engaged here, and also had their small patio reception in the same place. I love the thought they put into their day and that they included this very special place into their wedding.
Look how beautiful & in love these two are! I am a little sad their day is over but so excited that they get to start their lives together. There is no one more deserving then the two of them to have a love that will last forever.
Next up-our date at Cafe Ole’ and a chat about their honeymoon on Mauai! Woop Woop! Love you guys!
