Last weekend we put on our Scottsdale wedding photographer badge and rocked out Firesky Resort and Spa with Ashley & Steve. They are one busy couple. In fact, Ashley is getting ready to graduate from medical school in May and planned a wedding at the same time. See how crazy she is?!?, but they pulled it off and had a stellar Scottsdale wedding. Robin & I have the opportunity to capture some amazing venues. Ashley & Steve chose Firesky Resort for their Disney themed wedding and it could not have been any more romantic, genuine and magical. It was totally them and Ashley is seriously in LOVE with Disney. In fact, we rocked California for their Disneyland Engagement session. Firesky has some amazing spots for photos. Yes, we photographed some of the amazing greenery that the venue had to offer. Firesky is like a tropical paradise! But their lobby and decor was equally breathtaking, any modern Scottsdale wedding photographer’s dream with super tall and expansive ceilings, unique accents of furniture, modern lighting features, and more. We took a minute to capture these orange and red dangling lights to pull off some true R2 style. How stunning are these two?
Ashley’s bouquet, done by Flowers by Jodi, were stunning. I loved hearing that the lace around her flowers came from her mothers wedding dress.

Loved capturing their first look. It was filled with so much emotion, tears, and dancing.

As I mentioned, the lobby of Firesky is eye-catching…the light was shining right in on this spot so we really capitalized on the light, the amazing decor, and that HUGE fireplace holding up the ceiling….
One of my favorite sets from Ashley & Steve’s wedding. Jessica, the coordinator at Firesky, requested that Ashley & Steve be let into the ballroom before the guests so they could see how amazing it looked. With that they decided to practice their first dance all alone….no audience, but we were there to capture it.

And here is their official first dance…which went like this….Some magical Disney princess music and then they broke out into gangnam style, then back to princess music. They pretty much rocked it!
This group of guests had dancing written all over them. They never stopped and we were able to shoot some amazing dance shots. Pay particular attention to peoples faces. They are freakin’ hilarious! Oh and on a side note, check out how amazingly Ashley’s uplighting totally transformed her room, while keeping with the theme of her wedding colors. AWESOME!
We were sad to go home at the end of Ashley & Steve’s wedding but we know they will have the best life together. Especially with a little faith, love and pixie dust.
