Meet Katie & Ted….Flagstaff’s newest newlyweds!  While they are off in Cancun vacationing it up….we are working on finishing their wedding photos.  There is so much yuminness on this blog post, you wont want to miss any of it.  So, read on!

Katie incorporated elements of her family throughout her entire wedding!  In fact, the veil was made by her mother using her sisters wedding dress, with beads from Katies dress and lace from her grandmothers collection of lace and trims.  Katie wore this veil as her “something borrowed”. Oh, and the shoes-I am a shoot-a-holic with shoes.  Love shoes!

Meet Jenny, Katie’s MOH.  She had ALL of us cracking up during the getting ready process.  One hint…it involved the phrase “That’s what she said!” You will see more of Jenny down the road.

This ring was a family heirloom and also her something “blue”. The shoes, Katie turned them over and started crying as she read what her Bridesmaids had written on them.

Toms are becoming more popular.  We actually wear them to shoot weddings in.  These blinged up toms made their appearance at the reception.

This must be a man shot…because the boys love doing an official shot before their wedding.  I think the gift Katie gave ted was a great choice….blue bow and all.

When we got to the resort to do a 1st look, Robin and I looked at each other and thought we may need to change it up.  There was not an ideal place to shoot because the sun was crazy obnoxious.  We chatted with Katie about it, and she told us that Ted was so incredibly nervous, and she wanted to see him to calm him down.  So we trusted our bride and here is what transpired….BEAUTIFUL!

Kaite chose to do a DIY wedding as much as possible, in fact everything you see in these detail pics are things she made with the help of her family and friends.

Crazy , beautiful ladies!  This was a fun set of girls to work with, that were open to whatever.

This may officially be one of my favorite shots from the night.  The moment before father & daughter walk down the aisle.  It is a private little moment that we love to capture.

Our couples that are contemplating a first look are always concerned that their groom will not have the same emotion watching their bride walk down the aisle.  We always see the opposite, and here is the proof!

We were setting up family photos and Robin happened to look to the side and captured this moment going on.  Dad and son realizing the amazing thing that just took place.

This was out last spot of the night for their Bride & Groom photos, and it just happened to be our favorite!  As photographers light is more important then anything, and what we have here is beautiful light, and an amazing couple.

Katie & Ted opted for the un-traditional and went the cupcake route.  They still wanted to cut some cake (I will explain why in a bit) but the cupcakes were hand made by a friend of the bride. I even think I heard them saying there was champagne inside the cupcakes…hhhhmmmmmm.

Katie’s family has passed down this cake cutting set, that was first used in the 70’s.  On the inside of the box are names and dates of all the family members who have been married and used this set for their own wedding.  This was one of the coolest family traditions I have seen.

Okay so Justin Bieber made his appearance at this reception.  Ok, not in person, but through the DJ speakers.  When “boyfriend” came on I must admit I got a little excited.

In between dancing, cake-cutting, & mingling-this happened.  Mom came over to check on Katie and they exchanged some words, this is what we captured. Raw, real, candid, emotions.

Ted got sick of Justin Bieber and put a stop to it-then came his turn…Def Leopard! Oh Yeah!
