When Angela & Brad asked us to be their Kauai, Hawaii Wedding Photographers we didn’t hesitate!  In fact, we were ready pretty much the minute they asked.  They both really wanted a wedding that was just about the two of them, and no one else.  So they packed their bags, we packed our bags, and off we went to Kauai to capture an incredible Hawaii elopement that would change the course of our own lives!

One of the most important moments we felt we wanted to capture was the calm, intimate nature of their day!  It started with Brad taking a nap, Angela painting her nails, then brad went and got pizza for lunch and chilled at the beach with a good book…it was that non-stressful.  Just the way everyone wanted it. It was also during this moment Robin & I chatted to A&B about how they felt the day was going.  They would have not changed one thing….they were relaxed, no drama, no time frame, no bridezilla…NOTHING! It was truly fantastic!

Love these moody getting ready images Robin captured.

Angela & Brad were all over the first look idea…In fact, she had picked the perfect spot before we even arrived.  It was a beautiful afternoon with amazing light on Kauai.

A&B checked out the island before we flew out.  They walked down the trail to Hideaway’s beach ,otherwise known to the island residents as Pali Ke Kau. Their Pali Ke Kua wedding had the most magnificent view of the Bali Mountains, the Sunset, and so many textures that surround this island.

All Angela kept talking about was her flowers…she couldn’t wait to see them!  She had requested an island vibe and colors that were very Hawaiian for her flowers.  They were stunning.  During their ceremony, they gathered sand from under their feet to represent where they have been, where they were today, and where they would be going.  Love the idea and concept.

We rocked a few location around Hideaways for their wedding images.

Then went to their “reception” which included the two of them, and the two of us.  Local beer, mimosas, sushi, and some other deliciousness.

The day after their wedding we asked them to do a day after session (It’s actually a requirement if you hire R2 for your destination wedding – and it’s free!)  We went all around the North shore of Kauai and found some amazing locations to catch the vibe of Kauai landscape!

Cutest coconut stand…and Brad thought it was disgusting. See his face?

It was an amazing privilege being Angela and Brad’s destination wedding photographers for their Hawaiian wedding/elopement. We would go back any day (no, really!)
