Lindsey & Shelley’s Lost Dutchman State Park Wedding was one of the most spectacular weddings we have ever photographed. Not only were they surrounded by their love for each other, they had amazing friends & family witness their wedding which touched our hearts more than anyone will ever know. I (Renee) once saw a blog that had a same-sex couple on their wedding day with one image that gripped me. It was a shot of two grooms walking towards their ceremony site with a group of supportive followers behind them. This one image forever changed me & I couldn’t wait to be able to shoot a same sex wedding with the same emotional moment. Lindsey & Shelley’s wedding was it for me. There is just something so emotional for Robin & I regarding the love & support a family can have for their daughter or son who is in love with someone of the same gender. We welcome you to read this emotional journey for us & our bride’s from our R2 point of view.
The image above was during their 1st look. In our opinion, the most important part of our couples day. No posing, no interruptions, just a pure candid moment between these beautiful women.
Love the getting ready images photographed above for Lindsey. Her room was filled with excitement and anticipation of the moment she would see Shelley.
Why not do a shot with dad before the wedding. Love this image that happened all on its own.
Meanwhile, Shelley was in the room getting her hair & make-up done for her big day.
Everyone who see’s Lindsey dress is in love! Seriously, how amazing is this dress.
And here is the rest of the 1st look images which all happened in one amazing moment.
And here is the moment I was talking about above that touched me so much. Lindsey & Shelley both had their fathers walk them down the aisle. But, not only that, their mothers met them at the end of the aisle & finished the walk with them all the way down. I was literally in tears at the end of the aisle seeing this unconditional love and support their families had for their daughters. Make sure to watch their wedding video captured by The R2 Studio Video Team to see this in real life.
The Superstition mountains provided a fantastic backdrop for their ceremony.
R2 headed on over to The Views at Superstition where they were welcomed by their guests & a mariachi band for their reception
Chanpagne…no way! How about shots. So for every toast given the crowd & our bride’s enjoyed a shot of liquor.
We do weddings all the time with couples we love. All of them are unique in their own way & we love them all. Lindsey & Shelley’s left us loving each other more, dreaming about our own wedding, and loving our jobs even more. So, while we felt honored to capture their wedding day we have also been touched by them. And yes, we already have a drink/dinner date in the works. Can’t wait to see you two again!
